Death is one of the most challenging things we go through in life, so it’s natural to turn to music to try to ease the pain of losing someone. First up is Tears In Heaven by Eric Clapton from his 1992 album Rush. This song was tragically written about his four-year-old son, Conor, who had fallen out of a 53rd-floor apartment window and passed away. The track was such a tear-jerking tribute that it went to number one on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart and two on the Billboard Hot 100.

2. Wish You Were Here– Pink Floyd
Rock group Pink Floyd talked about loss with the song Wish You Were Here. This track comes from their 1975 album of the same name. While there has been debate about who this song was written for, most people consider this to be their tribute to former bandmate Syd Barrett. It’s thought of as one of their best tracks and still is a staple on radio stations.
3. Candle In The Wind – Elton John
The original version of Candle In The Wind by Elton John is on our list because this song is a tribute to Marilyn Monroe, who tragically passed away after an overdose. Frank Wilson And The Cavaliers had a smash hit with Last Kiss, which was popularized once again after Pearl Jam covered it. 7. See You Again – Wiz Khalifa Feat. Charlie Puth
Next is Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth with their hit collaboration See You Again, which is found on the Fast And Furious 7 soundtrack. When you hear this song, you’ll realize it’s all about Paul Walker, but it can be about anyone since it’s all about meeting the person on the other side and them always being with you regardless.
