"This is a Sangria that I make every year when we have people over for New Year's Eve. I think that it is better than some of the Sangrias I have had at restaurants! (Please also see my "New Year's Eve Red Sangria" as well!)"

This sangria is not for wimps! It certainly packs a punch while tasting quite refreshing. I made it last night for a BBQ I was having and it was enjoyed by all. I made as posted and will make again in the future. Thanks!

LOVED THIS! I am a red wine drinker and had a bottle of white left over from a party so I was looking for something yummy to do with it, today was my moms birthday and we planned on spending the day on the Llano river at the slab so I thought I'd mix this up for us. I made some substitutions to use what I had on hand.... grapefruit instead of orange, 1 cup of cognac instead of rum and a whole cup of vodka, I also left out the sugar because I prefer not to sweet drinks and I used sprite zero in place of the club soda....I mixed everything but the sprite in a large thermos type container and we mixed it with the sprite in our glass, about half and half. It was smashingly refreshing! I cant wait to make it in a clear pitcher to show off the lovely fruit. Thanks for providing a fabulous recipe for a refreshing drink we enjoyed while playing in the river on mums 73 birthday!

fantastic! I wanted something for a dinner party that was very alcoholic but easy to drink with food. This was perfect. It is a dangerous drink though because of the ease with which it is drunk. I live in Holland where we can't get Club soda so I used lemon flavoured fizzy water (Spa Citroen for Dutchies). I used Havana Club rum - it is my favourite rum, it doesn't have an evil kick. I skipped line 5 when I made it so we could dilute it to taste - we all did about 50/50 sangria and flavoured fizzy water. It gave four of us 2-3 good sized glasses each. Will definitely make again!

My name is Karen and I live West of Chicago (on the edge of no where!) with my DH, our two German Shepherds, and our two daughters. I love to golf, garden (except for the weeding!), am addicted to romance novels (and good science fiction), and I love to bake--usually cakes from scratch when I have the time! Since getting married, I have been cooking a lot more and am having a lot of fun trying new recipes! And now that I have two little ones, the slow cooker is my friend! The girls take a lot of time, but they are worth it!

The dogs are my babies too--though they are about as big as I am! It has been a bit of a challenge at times, as they both have severe hip dysplasia, but they are great dogs and I have learned so much about arthritis! I have also learned a lot about cancer, as our female was diagnosed with bone cancer. She is now on three, but doing great post-chemo. They are both great with the kids and love to ***** little hands and feet! and noses! and ears! and...!

I participated in the 2006 Fall PAC--and what a great game/program/thing!
