Since not a single person here has ever used the not yet released A6600, it's not possible to get any first hand reports on its performance in the field.
I use both a. Canon 80D and a Sony A6400 for wildlife photography, and get excellent results with both. My hit rate is actually higher with the A6400, but I'm more comfortable using the Canon with bigger and heavier lenses.
The A6400 will track birds in flight surprisingly well, and IQ is excellent. IBIS is not a big factor for me, since the lenses I use for wildlife are all stabilized. It is a very good choice for wildlife photography, with its short battery life the only real drawback. Luckily, the batteries are small and it's easy to carry an extra one or two in the field.
